Iced Chai Latte
- 1 tbsp Ceylon tea Assam or Darjeeling
- 3 cardamom pods
- ¾ cup hot water
- ¾ cup milk any dairy or non-dairy milk, lately I've been using Califa Farms Oat Barista Blend
- 2 cups ice
- sweetener like sugar, ghand, or simple syrup*
For Serving
- 1 splash rose water
- 1 fresh mint sprig
Instructions
- Bring water to boil. In the meantime, measure 1 tablespoon of black loose leaf tea and crack open 2 cardamom pods. If using a sweetener, you can add it at this time or after serving.1 tbsp Ceylon tea, 3 cardamom pods, sweetener
- Steep the tea in 3/4 cup of boiling hot water, covered, for 5 minutes.3/4 cup hot water
- Strain out tea and cardamom pods.
- To serve hot: warm and froth the milk and pour over the tea.To serve iced: pour over ice and add the milk.3/4 cup milk, 2 cups ice
- Serve with a splash of rose water, fresh mint sprig, and/or sweeten with your favorite sweetener.
